A Schonstedt Magnetic Locator assists fieldworkers in locating buried metal objects such as unexploded ordnance (UXO).

Description of the Technology
A Schonstedt Magnetic Locator is a handheld magnetometer, similar to a metal detector, which detects the magnetic area of metal objects. When a metal object is detected on or below the ground surface, an audio signal is emitted. The location is then marked and the object is uncovered.
